Number 14 Bisset Road started out on 496m2 when we sold it for the first time 22 years ago. The owner gradually bought the road reserve on the one side (too steep for the Council to use for traffic), then the buffer zone between them and Upper Fernwood Estate and finally one of the vacant erven in the Estate. He then creatively crafted rooms out of the mountain using the natural stone, bamboo ceilings, wood strip flooring, balustrades and a wonderful collection of old door and windows that all feel completely natural.
A second storey was added under a mazista slate roof, as well as a conservatory and a mountain pool. The chimney now rises out of the lawn from wood-burning fireplaces and draws your eye to the boundary at the top of a stoned terraced garden which visually extends to the majestic towering buttress of Castle Rock. For those with a thirst for the unusual, this restful retreat with its alluring atmosphere and ambience has catered for the new owners need for privacy, excitement, peace and tranquillity.
